Worst Solo Careers

Sep 20, 2012 -- 11:19am
22 years ago, September 20th of 1980, Ozzy Osbourne released his first solo album Blizzard of Ozz. Ozzy had just been kicked out of Black Sabbath and had a secret weapon named Randy Rhoads that helped him try to top his old band. Ozzy has had one of the more successful solo careers in rock. Some are not so fortunate. Mick Jagger tried ditched the Stones in the mid-80s when he released Shes The Boss and realized that Keith Richards was a pretty good musician and it would be best to keep him on stage right.
Tommy Lee of Motley Crue tried a DJ/rap album and that went about a lot better than expected. It actually peaked in the top 40 of the Billboard 200. Another drummer, this time from Scorpions, did the solo thing. Herman Ze German botched a career without his band. Klaus Meine just kept on loving you. Chris Cornell of Soundgarden tried the solo thing a couple of times. He even tried teaming up with Timbaland for Scream. That's what I did when I heard it.
The entire KISS band has tried to go on their own and none of them have worked. Scott Weiland is constantly releasing Christmas at the advice of someone trying to embarrass him, and Scott Stapp from Creed is well hes Scott Stapp.
