801 Active Cases Of Covid-19 In The Coachella Valley; 128 Hospitalizations

California has tested 14,484,852 of its 40 million people for the Covid-19 virus, since March 2020.  That’s 36.21% of the population.

 

25,515,148 people still need to be tested in California, that’s 63.78% of the state’s population.

 

5.59% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested positive. That’s 805,263 people.

 

94.40% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested negative.  That’s 13,679,589 people.

 

California has 15,608 deaths from Covid-19, which is 1.93% of those who have tested positive.

 

California hospitals report 3/10th’s of 1% of the people who have tested positive, are hospitalized, which is 3,160 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the hospitals. 831 of those patients are in ICU.

Riverside County stats as of Tuesday morning September 29th 2020, are through Sunday September 27th 2020

 

Riverside County has tested 643,671 people for Covid-19 since March 2020, out of a population of 2.5 million.  That’s 25.74% of the County’s population.

 

1,856,329 people still need to be tested in the county, that’s 74.25% of the county’s population.

 

9.15% of the people tested for Covid-19, have tested positive. That’s 58,932 people.

 

90.84% of the people tested for Covid-19 in Riverside County have tested negative.  That’s 584,739 people.

 

Of the 58,932 people who have tested positive in Riverside County,

91.51% of them, 53,930, have fully recovered.

6.22% of them, 3,668 are at home recovering. Together, that’s 97.73% of all the positive cases.

 

2/10th’s of 1%, of the people who have tested positive so far in Riverside County, 128 people, remain hospitalized, and 36 of them are in Intensive Care.

 

2% of the people who have tested positive so far in Riverside County, 1,206 people, have died from Covid-19.  344 of those deaths have been in the Coachella Valley, which is 28.52% of the County’s total. 312 deaths in cities, 32 deaths in unincorporated areas…9 in Mecca,  1 in Vista Santa Rosa, 3 in Bermuda Dunes, 4 in Garnet, 3 in Desert Palms, 5 in Desert Edge, 4 in Oasis, 2 in Sky Valley and 1 in North Shore.

 

Of the 1,206 people who have died from Covid-19 in Riverside County, 842 of them have been over 64; 303 have been between 45 and 64.

 

14,514 positive cases have been recorded in the Coachella Valley since March 8th 2020, when the testing and counting began. 94.48% of them, 13,713 people, have recovered. Only 801 active cases in the desert on 9/29/2020.

 

1,944 cases are in unincorporated areas of the desert since March 2020.

(Mecca 451 cases, Thermal 183 cases, Oasis 332 cases,  North Shore 135 cases, Bermuda Dunes 136 cases, Thousand Palms 227 cases, Vista Santa Rosa 99 cases, Garnet 219 cases, Desert Palms 45 cases, Desert Edge 68 cases, and Sky Valley 49 cases)

 

94.08%, or 1,829 people have recovered from Covid-19 in unincorporated areas:

Only 115 active cases of Covid-19 in unincorporated areas as of 9/29/2020.

 

12,570 Covid-19 cases reported in cities in the desert, since March 2020.

94.54% of those people, 11,884, people have recovered. Only 686 active Covid-19 cases in cities in the Coachella Valley as of 9/29/2020.

In Riverside County:

 

There are no deaths from Covid-19 for anyone from newborn to age 17.

deaths among people aged 18-24.

55 deaths among people aged 25-44

303 deaths among people aged 45-64

571 deaths among people aged 64-84

271 deaths among people aged 85 and up.

 

709 deaths are men, 493 are women, and 0 are transgender, non-binary or intersex according to county officials

 

Riverside County has 3,396 cases in nursing homes, with 2,097 cases among patients, and 1,299 cases among staff. The overwhelming majority of nursing home cases, 921 cases, are in the City of Riverside.

In Coachella Valley nursing facilities, there have been 192 cases in Palm Desert, 138 in Palm Springs, 77 in Rancho Mirage, 57 in Indio, 53 in La Quinta,

 

 

Riverside County is no longer providing capacity statistics for the hospitals in the county.

 

The federal temporary hospitals built at the County Fairgrounds in Indio and the old Sears Store in Riverside months ago, are still equipped and ready to be used.   They are not currently being used because they are not needed at this time.   They are not staffed right now because there are no patients there.

 

If they are needed, they can quickly be staffed and put into operation.

 

All testing is free to the patient being tested. Be patient, you might have to wait awhile to get an appointment.

Drive-thru testing is available by appointment only at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio  from 9 a-m to 3 p-m Tuesday through Saturday, by appt only. You can also get tested at the Cathedral City Library on Date Palm Drive. Rite Aid is expanding its COVID-19 testing capacity across California too.

 

Testing will be available by appointment for people 18 years of age or older, regardless of whether the person is experiencing symptoms, according to Rite Aid. Results are expected in three to five days, a company spokesperson said.

 

The Riverside County locations providing testing starting Thursday July 16th 2020 are:

The sites will utilize self-swab nasal tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists, and will operate weekdays from 10 a.m to 8 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
