More good news for coffee lovers!

A new study has found that drinking coffee can lower a person’s risk of kidney injury.

The study from Johns Hopkins Medicine revealed that drinking one cup a coffee a day may reduce a person’s risk of acute kidney injury compared to someone who does not consume coffee.

According to the National Kidney Foundation, acute kidney injury (or AKI), is a “sudden episode of kidney failure or kidney damage that happens within a few hours or a few days.”

The study suggests that coffee could possibly help stabilize the kidney and help keep fluids in the body balanced.
