Cool Centers Open

Cool centers are open in Riverside County.

 

There are 39 open now, with plans to open 21 more as we head into summer.

 

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, you must wear a facemask and avoid other people when you go to the cool centers.

 

The cool centers are coordinated by the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County, in conjunction with Riverside University Health System –Public Health.

 

Light refreshments and water will be available at some locations.  For a list of cool center locations, visit www.capriverside.org.

 

Here are some centers open in the East Valley:

 

Coachella Senior Center on 7th St, Mon through Fri 8 a-m to 3:30 p-m

 

Coachella Valley Rescue Mission in Indio, 7 days a week from 8 a-m to 5 p-m

 

Martha’s Village and Kitchen in Indio, 7 days a week from 9 a-m to 4 p-m

 

La Quinta Wellness Center on Avenida La Fonda, Mon through Fri from 9 a-m to 4 p-m

 

Palm Desert Library, Mon through Thurs 10 a-m to 8 p-m, Fri and Sat 10 a-m to 5 p-m, and Sun 1 p-m to 5 p-m

 

 

The City of Palm Springs has opened 3 cool centers:

 

James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center, 480 W. Tramview Road,

Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

 

Palm Springs Public Library, 300 S. Sunrise Way, Monday – Thursday

10 a.m. – 6 p.m.,  Friday & Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Pets on leashes are welcome. Cats must be in a carrier.

 

Well in the Desert, 441 S. Calle Encilia, Monday – Sunday 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m..
