California has tested 8,826,119 of its 40 million people for the Covid-19 virus, since March 2020.  That’s 22% of the population.

31,173,881 people still need to be tested in California.

6.27% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested positive. That’s 554,160 people.

93.72% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested negative.  That’s 8,271,959 people.

California has 10,293 deaths from Covid-19, which is 1.85% of those who have tested positive.

California hospitals report 1.01% of the people who have tested positive, are hospitalized, which is 5,636 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the hospitals. 1,731 of those patients are in ICU.  The State also reports having another 1,213 “Suspected Covid-19” patients.

Riverside County stats as of Monday morning August 10th, 2020.

Riverside County has tested 382,816 people for Covid-19 since March 2020.  That’s 15.31 of the County’s population. 84.68% of the population has not been tested for Covid-19

2,117,184 people still need to be tested in the county.

89.43% of the people tested for Covid-19 in Riverside County have tested negative.  That is 342,364 people.

10.56% of the people who have been tested have tested positive.

That’s 40,452 people.

Of the 40,452 people who have tested positive in Riverside County,

52.21% of them, 21,121, have fully recovered.

44.77% of them, 18,113, are at home recovering and are not getting any medical assistance. Together, that’s 96.98% of all the positive cases.

1.01% of the people who have tested positive so far in Riverside County, 409 people, remain hospitalized, and 125 of them are in Intensive Care.

1.97% of the people who have tested positive so far in Riverside County, 799 people, have died from Covid-19. 253 of those deaths have been in the Coachella Valley, which is 31.66% of the County’s total. 229 deaths in cities, 24 deaths in unincorporated areas…8 in Mecca,  1 in Vista Santa Rosa, 3 in Bermuda Dunes, 3 in Garnet, 2 in Desert Palms, 4 in Desert Edge, 2 in Oasis, and 1 in North Shore.

10,954 positive cases have been recorded in the Coachella Valley since March 8th, 2020, when the testing and counting began. The Coachella Valley has accounted for 27.05% of the positive cases in Riverside County.

In Riverside County:

There are no deaths from Covid-19 for anyone from newborn to age 17.

4 deaths among people aged 18-24.

197 deaths among people aged 45-64

390 deaths among people aged 64-84

171 deaths among people aged 85 and up.

Riverside County has 2,758 cases in nursing homes, with 1,674 cases among patients, and 1,084 cases among staff. The overwhelming majority of nursing home cases, 816 cases, are in the City of Riverside.

In Coachella Valley nursing facilities, there have been 189 cases in Palm Desert, 125 in Palm Springs, 51 in Indio, 50 in La Quinta, 49 in Rancho Mirage.

Riverside County is no longer providing capacity statistics for the hospitals in the county.

The federal temporary hospitals built at the County Fairgrounds in Indio and the old Sears Store in Riverside months ago, are still equipped and ready to be used.   They are not currently being used because they are not needed at this time.   They are not staffed right now because there are no patients there.

If they are needed, they can quickly be staffed and put into operation.

All testing is free to the patient being tested. Be patient, you might have to wait a while to get an appointment.

Drive-thru testing is available by appointment only at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio from 9 a-m to 3 p-m Tuesday through Saturday, by appt only. You can also get tested at the Cathedral City Library on Date Palm Drive. Rite Aid is expanding its COVID-19 testing capacity across California too.

Testing will be available by appointment for people 18 years of age or older, regardless of whether the person is experiencing symptoms, according to Rite Aid. Results are expected in three to five days, a company spokesperson said.
