Covid-19 Pandemic Continues Into Late October 2020

California has tested 17,787,885 of its 40 million people for the Covid-19 virus, since March 2020.  That’s 44.46% of the population.

 

22,212,115 people still need to be tested in California, that’s 55.53% of the state’s population.

 

4.99% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested positive. That’s 889,029 people.

 

95.00% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested negative.  That’s 16,898,856 people.

 

California has 17,345 deaths from Covid-19, which is 1.95% of those who have tested positive.

 

California hospitals report 3/10th’s of 1% of the people who have tested positive, are hospitalized, which is 2,969 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the hospitals. 722 of those patients are in ICU.

Riverside County stats as of Friday morning October 23rd 2020.

 

At 10 a-m on Monday October 26th 2020, Riverside County remains in the California’s most restrictive Purple Tier, for Widespread risk of Covid-19 transmission.

 

Riverside County has tested 787,357 people for Covid-19 since March 2020, out of a population of 2.5 million.  That’s 31.49% of the County’s population.

 

1,712,643 people still need to be tested in the county, that’s 68.50% of the county’s population.

 

8.35% of the people tested for Covid-19 in Riverside County have tested positive. That’s 65,757 people.

 

91.64% of the people tested for Covid-19 in Riverside County have tested negative.  That’s 721,600 people.

 

Of the 65,757  people who have tested positive in Riverside County,

89.49% of them, 58,852 have fully recovered.

8.31% of them, 5,465 are at home recovering. Together, that’s 97.80% of all the positive cases.  371 new cases between Thursday October 22nd and Friday October 23rd.

 

2/10th’s of 1%, of the people who have tested positive so far in Riverside County, 161 people, remain hospitalized, and 39 of them are in Intensive Care.

 

1.95% of the people who have tested positive so far in Riverside County, 1,279 people, have died from Covid-19. 361 of those deaths have been in the Coachella Valley, which is 28.22% of the County’s total. 326 deaths in cities, 35 deaths in unincorporated areas…9 in Mecca,  1 in Vista Santa Rosa, 3 in Bermuda Dunes, 5 in Garnet, 3 in Desert Palms, 5 in Desert Edge, 5 in Oasis, 1 in Thousand Palms, 2 in Sky Valley and 1 in North Shore.

 

Of the 1,279 people who have died from Covid-19 in Riverside County, 889 of them have been over 65; 324 have been between 45 and 64.

 

15,702 positive cases have been recorded in the Coachella Valley since March 8th 2020, when the testing and counting began. 92.74% of them, 14,563  people, have recovered. There are 1,139 active cases in the desert on 10/26/2020.

 

2,099 cases are in unincorporated areas of the desert since March 2020.

(Mecca 484 cases, Thermal 193 cases, Oasis 358 cases,  North Shore 152 cases, Bermuda Dunes 147 cases, Thousand Palms 250 cases, Vista Santa Rosa 104 cases, Garnet 239 cases, Desert Palms 48 cases, Desert Edge 74 cases, and Sky Valley 50 cases). 13 new cases from Thurs Oct 22nd to Friday Oct 23rd.

 

93.09%, or 1,954 people have recovered from Covid-19 in unincorporated areas:

Mecca 447, Thermal 186, Oasis 335, North Shore 137, Bermuda Dunes 136,

Thousand Palms 235, Vista Santa Rosa 99, Garnet 227, Desert Palms 40, Desert Edge 67, Sky Valley 45.  Only 145 active cases of Covid-19 in unincorporated areas as of 10/26/2020.

 

 

13,603 Covid-19 cases reported in cities in the desert, since March 2020.

 

92.69% of those people, 12,609, people have recovered. Only 994 active Covid-19 cases in cities in the Coachella Valley as of 10/26/2020.

24 cases in Idyllwild/Pine Cove, 1 death;   21 people have recovered

67 cases in Cabazon, 1 dead;                62 people have recovered

 

 

In Riverside County:

 

There are no deaths from Covid-19 for anyone from newborn to age 17.

8 deaths among people aged 18-24.

58 deaths among people aged 25-44

324 deaths among people aged 45-64

606 deaths among people aged 65-84

283 deaths among people aged 85 and up.

 

748 deaths are men, 526 are women, and 0 are transgender, non-binary or intersex according to county officials

 

Riverside County has 3,559 cases in nursing homes, with 2,200 cases among patients, and 1,359 cases among staff. The overwhelming majority of nursing home cases, 957 cases, are in the City of Riverside.

In Coachella Valley nursing facilities, there have been 192 cases in Palm Desert, 175 in Palm Springs, 77 in Rancho Mirage, 58 in Indio, 53 in La Quinta,

You can also get tested at the Cathedral City Library on Date Palm Drive. Rite Aid is doing Covid-19 testing by appointment for people 18 years of age or older, regardless of whether the person is experiencing symptoms. Results are expected in three to five days.

 

The Coachella Valley locations providing testing starting Thursday July 16th 2020 are:

— 51101 Cesar Chavez St., Coachella;

— 47985 Monroe St., Building A, Indio; 

 

The sites will utilize self-swab nasal tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists, and will operate weekdays from 10 a.m to 8 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
