A tribute to the late Eddie Van Halen will be going up in the guitarist’s hometown of Pasadena.

City officials have approved a plaque honoring EVH, to be placed near the city’s Civic Auditorium, site of dozens of Van Halen concerts in the band’s early days.

Eddie and Alex Van Halen grew up in Pasadena after their family moved there in 1962.
The plaque is expected to go up sometime before the end of the year.
