Californians are being asked to conserve energy due to the heatwave.

The California Independent System Operator has issued a statewide Flex Alert and is asking people across the state to voluntarily conserve electricity from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, August 14th, 2020.

Limit the use of major appliances like washers, dryers, and dishwashers to the early morning or late night hours.

The National Weather Service has issued excessive heat watches and warnings for several parts of California.
