ESPN reports that after nearly 15 years, Eli Manning won’t start as QB for the New York Giants.

The team has elevated rookie Daniel Jones as starting QB, taking over duties this Sunday against Tampa Bay. Coach Pat Shurmur said “I spoke to Eli this morning.

I told him we are making a change and going with Daniel as a starter.  Ei was obviously disappointed but said he would continue to be a good teammate and continue to prepare to help his team win games.”

The Giants have lost their first two games this season by a combined 32 points.  Manning’s completed 63% of his passes this season.
