Jack White To Get Honorary Degree

Call him Dr. White – White Stripes and Raconteurs rocker Jack White will be receiving an honorary degree from a Detroit-area university next month.

Wayne State University, which White briefly attended before dropping out, will grant him an honorary doctor of humane letters at its commencement next month.

The university chose to honor White’s “dedication to Detroit and significant contributions to the arts”, calling him “one of the most prolific and renowned artists of the past two decades”.
