Jerry West Furious With HBO Over ‘Winning Time’

Hall of Famer Jerry West is furious with HBO over how he’s portrayed in the new show Winning Time: Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.

According to reports, West had his lawyers send a letter to HBO and producer Adam McKay demanding an apology and retraction for characterizing West as an “intoxicated rage-aholic” – as well as suggesting that West didn’t want the team to draft Magic Johnson.

Other ex-Lakers players and staffers have also come forward claiming West was nothing like he’s portrayed in the show.
