In the early 1980s, Judas Priest and a budding Iron Maiden hit the road together. In the nearly 40 years that have passed, both bands have become metal icons — and a whole lot older. No one is more aware of the latter fact than Ian Hill.

The Judas Priest bassist is pushing for a co-headlining tour featuring both acts — and he says it’d better happen soon. “There’s always the big question of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden,” Hill says. “That would be really interesting if we could get that together before some of us die.”

For now, all members of both bands are alive and in touring shape. Judas Priest is on the road to promote last year’s Firepower album, while Iron Maiden is preparing to embark on their Legacy of the Beast tour.
