Events for Memorial Day:

Preparations are being made for the busiest day of the year at The Palm Springs Air Museum.

Crowds will pack the museum Monday May 27th for the 22nd annual  Memorial Day Ceremony & Air Fair

This year World War II Tail Gunner Lt. Col. Russ Mulvany will be honored, and receive a Congressional presentation from Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz .

Four fighter jets will fly in the  missing man formation.

Flight exhibitions begin at 10 in the morning.

At 1 p-m, a bomber, piloted by Jim Dale, who did the very first flower drop at the museum, will take to the skies, then drop 3-thousand red and white carnations on the tarmac behind the air museum.

The white carnations are in honor of those who fought in WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

The red carnations are in honor of those who died in more recent conflicts in the Persian Gulf, Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

The Heatwave Jazz Band will perform and there will be food vendors and children’s activities.

Active duty military members and their immediate family are free.

Kids under 5 are free.
