Metallica Pays Tribute To Lemmy

On The Fourth Anniversary Of His Death Lemmy departed this world four years ago on December 28, leaving behind a legacy that has touched many bands and fans.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday to mark his passing, Metallica paid tribute to the Mötörhead frontman, sharing a September 2009 performance together along with the caption: “We miss you, Lemmy…” The metal icons are big Mötörhead fans.

Using many of the trio’s song titles in their lyrics to “Murder One,” which appears on Hardwired… To Self-Destruct.

In a previous interview discussing the track, Lars Ulrich admitted that seeing Mötörhead on tour in 1981, “made me want to be in a band”.
