Metallica’s first recorded song, “Hit the Lights,” is being released on vinyl for the first time since 1984, the band has announced.

The track will be part of label Metal Blade’s reissue of its 1982 Metal Massacre compilation, which will also include Ratt’s “Tell the World” and Steeler’s “Cold Day in Hell.”

All three songs — which were omitted from later pressings of the album — have been brought back to restore the original track list as part of the compilation’s 40th anniversary celebration, a rep for the label confirms.

“Hit the Lights” is notable because it features Metallica’s original lead guitarist, future Megadeth founder Dave Mustaine. The Metal Massacre reissue is due to drop this spring.
