March 6th marks the 34th anniversary of Metallica’s third album Master of Puppets.
The album would smash records in 1986 with songs like the title track, “Battery” and “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)”.
Loudwire says Metallica wrote the entire album in less than eight weeks!
Master of Puppets producer Flemming Rasmussen told Rolling Stone magazine that the band wanted to recreate their previous album, Ride The Lightning, “just a lot better.”
The band actually went with Rasmussen as producer after Rush’s Geddy Lee turned down the offer due to scheduling conflicts.
