Pearl Jam Member Visits Chris Cornell Statue

For the unveiling of a statue paying tribute to one of the late founders of the grunge rock movement, another musician instrumental to the genre was on hand. Jeff Ament along with Matt Cameron visited Seattle’s MoPOP museum on Sunday along with members of Soundgarden and the family of Chris Cornell.

The Pearl Jam bassist also helped on a retrospective album to the late frontman, which will be released next month. Cornell’s widow, Vicky, thanked Ament in an Instagram post, writing, “Thank you #jeffament for the beautiful art work, love and support.” Since the two bands were so closely aligned, are you surprised the other members didn’t attend?
