Heavy rain, severe thunderstorms and flash floods may seem like terrible weather but it’s exactly what Australians have finally received.

A heavy storm burst over the country has helped tamper bush fires ravaging Australia.

Heavy rain helped to extinguish 32 fires in the South Wales area alone as the number of bush fires fell from 120 to 88 on Thursday.

Meteorologists, calling the rain “good falls”, say that the storm will last until Sunday.  They added that while the rain may not extinguish every fire in Australia, it will give much needed relief to firefighters battling the fires.
