Rami Malek Wins SAG Acting Award For “Bohemian Rhapsody”

Bohemian Rhapsody keeps racking up accolades. Fresh off winning a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, Rami Malek nabbed another prize.

At the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, Malek took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role.

Speaking to the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall audience, the 37-year-old thanked the band and Mercury in his acceptance speech, saying “I get some power from him that is about stepping up and living your best life and being exactly who you want to be and accomplishing everything you so desire.

I feel that, and he allows us all to feel that. So this is again for him.” The box office-busting biopic was also up for the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture category but lost out to Black Panther.
