Rolling Out The Johnson & Johnson Vaccine… Again

Starting on Thursday April 29th, 2021, you will be able to get the single dose  Johnson and Johnson Covid-19  vaccine.

The vaccine has been given the green light by federal, state and regional health officials, after being on pause due to 6 adverse reactions nationwide, including one death.

The J & J  vaccine will be available starting Thursday April 29th 2021 at the clinic at Alessandro High School in Hemet. Riverside County health officials will start offering that vaccine to other vaccination sites and mobile vaccine teams the first week of May 2021.

“Bringing back the Johnson and Johnson vaccine will provide us with another tool to help vaccinate as many Riverside County residents as possible,” said Dr. Geoffrey Leung, Public Health Officer for Riverside County. “We are confident the vaccine is safe and effective.”

Riverside County has 17-thousand doses of the J&J vaccine in storage.

There have not been any reports of severe reactions among the 17-thousand people who have already gotten the J & J vaccine in Riverside County.

The County has administered  more than 1.5 million Covid-19 vaccine doses so far.

It is still urging people to make an appointment to get the vaccine, by going to www.rivcoph.org/covid-19-vaccine or call 2-1-1 for those needing assistance.
