As of this morning, the National Hurricane Center says Category 2 storm Dorian is about 80 miles east of Cape Canaveral, with sustained winds of 110 miles per hour.

Officials say flooding and storm surge are threats as Dorian marches up the East Coast at a steady 3 miles per hour.

Air travel continues to be disrupted as almost 800 flights have been canceled for today and that number is likely to rise as the day continues.

Meanwhile, Washington has signed off on a federal disaster declaration for North Carolina that will help funnel federal aid to the state, including bringing in more FEMA and military personnel.
