Tiger Recovering At Hospital After Early Morning Traffic Crash

Golf legend Tiger Woods is recovering from surgery after the SUV he was driving went off the road, rolled over and crashed early Tuesday morning February 23rd 2021 in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

Doctors at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center inserted a rod and screws in his right leg below the knee to stabilize what they called multiple open fractures in the two main bones in the lower leg.

The crash also broke bones in the 45-year-old Woods’ right foot and ankle.

An L.A. County Sheriff’s deputy said he found Woods lucid, and wearing his seatbelt, , trapped in the vehicle that was on its side.

Deputy Carlos Gonzales told reporters the seatbelt and the SUV’s safety features might have saved Woods’ life.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.
