According to Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, the founding frontman has completed his treatments, with his bandmates “optimistic about a full recovery”.

Ellefson spoke with Pomelo Rocker, noting that the metal rockers are letting Mustaine take all the time he needs.

But when he’s done, they’ll resume work on their next album. If up to Ellefson, perhaps that record will be out next year.

Megadeth postponed all 2019 touring after the announcement of Mustaine’s diagnosis. They’re scheduled to hit the road with Five Finger Death Punch and Bad Wolves starting this January.
