Valley-Wide Emplyment Expo Still Virtual In 2021; Search For Work Is Online

According to Riverside County numbers, despite a surplus of job openings, a lot of workers are out of work.

Nearly 1 in 10 workers are unemployed.

Plenty of people had decent jobs they enjoyed until government lockdowns forced their employers to close their doors during the Covid-19 pandemic. On Thursday September 23rd, the Annual Valley-wide Employment Expo is taking place from 9 a-m to 1 p-m.

But forget your business suit, and a stack of resume’s for this one, because the job fair is all online.

Eye contact, a smile, and a firm handshake have been replaced by digital booths and online chat rooms.

At least 96 employers will be offering jobs at the Employment Expo, as private sector companies compete against government agencies for workers.

Local law enforcement agencies need employees and the standards are high.  The County’s In-Home Supportive Services program has loads of home healthcare worker positions to fill.

County officials say resume’s are not required but are encouraged.
