Bands Are Now Dropping Out Of SXSW Over Coronavirus Fears

It’s now no longer just tours coming through Asia that are getting postponed. Several artists have dropped out of South By Southwest amid coronavirus concerns.

Set to participate in the media festival’s film section this month, Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, and Ozzy Osbourne all announced their cancelations, as well as Netflix, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon Studios, TikTok, Mashable and Intel.

Beastie Boys were to promote their upcoming Spike Jonze directed documentary Beastie Boys Story, while Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross were to talk about HBO’s Watchmen, which they wrote the score.

Ozzy also has a self-produced documentary titled, Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne.
