A letter written by late AC/DC singer Bon Scott was just auctioned off for more than $14,000. The three-page letter was written to his then-girlfriend while AC/DC was on tour in Pittsburgh, PA in 1978.

He talks about his drinking, the exhausting tour schedule, and a desire to “check myself into a sanitarium for a month”.

Scott would die less than two years later in February 1980 at the age of 33. The letter was purchased by Australia’s McGowan government, who will display it in the State Library.
