A city council in Ontario has taken the first step in renaming a popular concert venue in honor of late Rush drummer Neil Peart.

The St. Catharines City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a motion to move forward with the proposal, which seeks to rename Lakeside Park Pavilion.

The council is also considering erecting a statue of Peart to sit outside the venue, says council member Walter Sendzik. Since the death of the iconic drummer, sales of Rush’s music has peaked.

From January 10th through January 16th, 24,600 Rush albums were sold in the U.S. — marking an increase of more than 1,000 percent. In the same period of time, more than 16 million people streamed Rush songs — a 340 percent jump.
