France Holding Daylong Tribute to Notre Dame Firefighters

France is holding a daylong tribute to the Parisian firefighters who battled the Notre Dame cathedral blaze.

The firefighters have been praised for preventing the fire from completely destroying the cathedral and for saving many of its historic treasures.

Over 400 hundred firefighters battled the blaze and continue to rescue what they can from the cathedral.

France’s president will hold a “word of thanks” ceremony and a concert for the firefighters.
