Following Dave Mustaine’s throat cancer diagnosis last year, Megadeth canceled all tour plans for 2019.

Now out of treatment, the metal icons have returned to the stage, kicking off a month-long European tour in support of Five Finger Death Punch.

Sharing a photo from Monday night’s gig, their first live show in over 15 months, bassist David Ellefson thanked fans for sticking by, writing, “All the prayers and support to Dave and the @megadeth camp these past months….they surely worked!”

Mustaine recently revealed to Rolling Stone that he believes in the power of prayer, telling the magazine it’s the reason he recovered so quickly.
