Metallica’s “Don’t Tread On Me” is burning up the internet thanks to its potential life saving, wildlife scaring sound.

Last week, the world learned how a Canadian woman out walking her dog was able to fend off a cougar attack by blasting the 1991 track from her phone.

According to YouTube’s Music Charts and Trends, streams of the single have jumped 1,500 percent on the site, racking up close to 160,000 listens each day since the story went viral.

News of Dee Gallant and her bravery reached frontman James Hetfield, who called her up to discuss the encounter.
