Mötley Crüe famously called it quits in 2014, signing a cessation of touring contract that preceded their final shows. But they’re back, playing stadiums with Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett in the new year.

According to Nikki Sixx, the members just needed a break at that point, having spent 35 years on the road.

Reuniting to work on their Netflix biopic, The Dirt, the guys came to the conclusion that absence makes the heart grow fonder, admits the bassist. “I think we sort of realized how much – without even talking about the music – how much we missed each other.

We missed each other to be honest with you. We missed being in a band together,” Sixx told Rolling Stone.
