On this date in rock history: Cliff Burton

Today in rock history we lost one of music’s great bassist. It was on this date, September 27, in 1986, that Metallica’s Cliff Burton was killed in a bus crash.

The Burton and Metallica had already risen to the top of their genre with Kill ‘Em All, Ride the Lightening, and Master of Puppets.
