Polish Institute Classifies Cats as Alien Invasive Species

The Polish Academy of Sciences has identified domesticated cats as “invasive alien species.”

According to the institute, this is due to the damage cats have caused to wildlife such as birds. The term “Felis catus” was entered into the database run by the academy’s Institue of Nature Conservation.
