Remembering Nirvana’s Reading Festival Performance On The 25th Anniversary Of Kurt Cobain’s Death

Kurt Cobain was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound 25 years ago. But rather than dwell on Friday’s anniversary, let’s focus on one of Nirvana’s most legendary performances.

The band’s former manager, Danny Goldberg, sets the August 30, 1992 scene in his new book detailing the life and career of his famous client, Serving The Servant: Remembering Kurt Cobain.

Rumors were that Nirvana wasn’t going to take the stage at the Reading Festival, but Cobain appeared in a wheelchair, faking a collapse, then rocking the UK audience. Goldberg later admitted it was “One of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had in my life.

I was standing on the side of the stage with my business partner and we were just laughing and saying how incredible it was.
