The band’s former manager, Danny Goldberg, sets the August 30, 1992 scene in his new book detailing the life and career of his famous client, Serving The Servant: Remembering Kurt Cobain.

Rumors were that Nirvana wasn’t going to take the stage at the Reading Festival, but Cobain appeared in a wheelchair, faking a collapse, then rocking the UK audience. Goldberg later admitted it was “One of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had in my life.

I was standing on the side of the stage with my business partner and we were just laughing and saying how incredible it was.
