Coming to Netflix While an official release date hasn’t been announced, Netflix has revealed that it has paid $9 million for the rights to Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, the film based on serial killer Ted Bundy that features Metallica’s James Hetfield in his dramatic acting debut.

Hetfield plays a Utah highway patrolman who arrested Bundy in 1975. The film also features actors Zac Efron (who plays Bundy) and Haley Joel Osment.

Hetfield has ties to the film’s director, Joe Berlinger. Berlinger worked with Metallica on their documentary, Some Kind of Monster.
